TOM VALENTI, CPO, PRESIDENT
Tom, founder and owner of the Ortho Remedy graduated in 1974 from New York University Prosthetic and Orthotic School.
He interned at one of NY’s leading P&O labs, Eschen Prosthetic & Orthotics, for 3 years.
In 1976 he opened The Ortho Remedy Center for Prosthetic Excellence. Ever since he has dedicated his career to helping people with physical challenges reach their full potential and lead happy and productive lives.
He has been published in several industry journals and stays abreast of all the latest technological advances in both prosthetics and orthotics. In 1981 he invented the EndoFlex® System, a revolutionary lightweight system for both below- and above-knee amputees. Since then, he has taught seminars to other practitioners interested in utilizing his system, and he supplies the materials and equipment necessary to make and fit the prostheses.
Tom was the first prosthetic practitioner in the tri-state area (NY/NJ/CT) to be certified to fit and program the technologically advanced C-Leg® by Otto Bock Healthcare, a German manufacturer of prosthetic and orthotic components. This computerized, hydraulically operated knee attached to a titanium prosthesis is for above-knee amputees.
